Christian Hiller von Gaertringen is a widely acknowledged expert and keynote speaker on business and finance in Africa with a strong record of accomplishment of financial expertise, an extensive international network and a profound understanding of the African economy.

One of his main strengths lies in the evaluation of opportunities and risks over and above all balance sheets and statistics. Christian is the founder of the advisory company Africa Partners GmbH based in Frankfurt (Germany).

Christian has more than 20 years of experience as a business and finance journalist in leading French and German media (Le Monde, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Wirtschaftswoche) and published in 2014 the German best-selling book "Africa the next Asia. The Economic Upturn of a Continent" with the renowned publishing house Hoffmann & Campe.

Christian is Member of the Advisory Board of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Africa Studies (ZIAF) at the Goethe University in Frankfurt (Germany), of the Think-Tank on African-European economic relationships IPEMED in Paris (France) and of the “Renewables Round Table 2100”.

He has a Master in Economics with a major in Money-Banking-Finance, University Lumière Lyon 2 in Lyons (France), studies in Banking and Economics at Economic University, Vienna (Austria), and he speaks German, English and French.
